Sigma: Sundeep Kishan spills about working with Thalapathy Vijay's son Jason Sanjay, says 'He does look a lot like his father'

Thalapathy Vijay’s son, Jason Sanjay, is gearing up to make his directorial debut in Tamil cinema with Sigma, starring Sundeep Kishan. Ahead of the film’s release on July 31, 2026, the actor opened up about working with the star kid-turned-director.

Speaking to Variety India, Sundeep Kishan said, “Sanjay is an extremely hardworking boy. He and his team have been working on this project for a very long time. They invested heavily in both the pre-production and editing processes. One can learn a lot about patience from him, which truly impressed me.”
The actor further added, “For a 25-year-old to be that patient, calm, and clear about what he wanted while directing was amazing. He has studied filmmaking and editing. It had been a long time since I worked with a filmmaker that young. He does look a lot like his father, Thalapathy Vijay. He's one of the most grounded and humble people you’ll ever meet.”

Sigma marks the directorial debut of Thalapathy Vijay’s son, Jason Sanjay. The film is touted to be an action-adventure comedy centered on a “lone wolf” protagonist who challenges societal expectations and embarks on a quest for hidden treasure, while navigating a world of high-stakes heists.
Written by Jason Sanjay, the film is backed by Lyca Productions, with music composed by Thaman S. Apart from Sundeep Kishan, the cast includes Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee, Sampath Raj, Kiran Konda, Magalakshmi Sudharsanan, and several others in pivotal roles. Additionally, a few actors are rumored to make cameo appearances, while Jason himself is also expected to feature in a dance number.
On the other hand, Thalapathy Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, is yet to be released in theaters. Directed by H. Vinoth, the action drama is expected to hit the big screens on the superstar’s birthday this year. Besides Vijay, the film also stars Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Priyamani, and several others in key roles.
