Suriya last starred in the lead role in Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. As the actor gears up for his upcoming films, it seems he might be in talks to collaborate with Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar.

Suriya and director Nelson Dilipkumar to collaborate for Suriya50?

According to Valai Pechu, Suriya is reportedly keen on working with director Nelson Dilipkumar for his landmark 50th film, tentatively titled Suriya50. The actor's team is said to have approached the filmmaker regarding a potential collaboration on a comedy film. However, Nelson is currently busy with Jailer 2 while also working on the pre-production of KHxRK Reunion.

Apparently, the project might be bankrolled by Sithara Entertainments, with Anirudh Ravichander handling the music and background score. However, no official confirmation has been made so far, and the information is based on a report.

Suriya’s work front

Suriya was last seen in the lead role in Karuppu. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film follows a father and daughter who travel to Chennai so that the latter can undergo surgery. However, while spending the night at a railway station, the duo is robbed of the gold they intended to sell to cover the medical expenses.

Although the gold is eventually recovered, they are forced to face challenges created by Baby Kannan. Desperate for help, the father prays to the guardian deity Karuppusamy, who takes human form to assist them and reform the system. The film concludes with an epilogue hinting at a sequel titled Karuppu vs Vellai.

Apart from Suriya, the film also stars Trisha Krishnan, RJ Balaji, Indrans, Anagha Maya Ravi, Natarajan Subramaniam, Swasika, and Sshivada in key roles.

Looking ahead, the actor is set to play the lead role in Vishwanath And Sons, directed by Venky Atluri. Co-starring Mamitha Baiju, the film is scheduled to release on August 14, 2026, with the promo for its first single slated to arrive on June 17, 2026.

Moreover, the Retro actor also has the tentatively titled Suriya47 in his lineup. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, the film stars Nazriya Nazim Fahadh and Naslen as co-leads.
