Tara Sutaria opens up about Toxic at Cannes 2026
In a candid chat with The Hollywood Reporter India right from Cannes, Tara Sutaria opened up about sharing screen space with Rocking Star Yash. She also shared her thoughts on working under the vision of director Geetu Mohandas.
Tara, who was last seen delivering a powerhouse performance in Apurva, made it clear that she prioritizes quality over quantity. For her, doing Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was satisfactory and pleasing, as she wanted to be on sets that make her feel good.
“That I lead well with integrity, purpose, and intention. We have all of these things with director Geetu Mohandas and with co-actor Yash, and it has been a joy of my life to work with Geetu and to be led by a woman,” the actress expressed.
The Cannes 2026 debutant further added that all the females in the ensemble cast film, including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth, are fascinating. “Everyone has immense power, is fearless and fabulous, and it is globally going to be something that people don’t expect,” she divulged.
Playing the charming and dangerous character of Rebecca, Tara further emphasized that being led by a female filmmaker on a massive, globally mounted project makes a world of difference on set.
When asked if fans can expect an epic, slow-motion ‘Avengers-like’ moment where all the leading ladies come together on screen, Tara dropped a major hint with a smile, saying, “We'll see... I feel like it'll be there!”
While Toxic was initially slated for an early 2026 release, the makers have pushed the date. The official revised date of the mass entertainer’s release is yet to be revealed by the team.
