Newcomers Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty starrer Uppena released on February 12 and the film witnessed phenomenal response from the audience and critics alike. The makers of the film recently hosted a grand success meet, which was also graced by Ram Charan. The RRR was all praise for the lead actor in his long speech at Uppena success celebrations. He started his speech by thanking Telugu audience for visiting theatres and watching the film. "2020 was a dull year for the entire industry. When no industry recovered from the corona shock, Tollywood is the only industry that has recovered completely," he said at the event.

Charan also opened up that Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan always encouraged Vaishnav Tej to get into acting. "We knew that he will become successful. My dad Chiranjeevi and babai Pawan Kalyan were among the first persons to encourage him. Pawan Kalyan is like guru to him. He sent him to foreign countries to learn acting. Chiranjeevi heard the story 4 times," Rangalasthal star said while praising the team in his long speech. 

Bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings jointly,  Uppena has music by Devi Sri Prasad. Uppena also features Vijay Sethupathi in a pivotal role. His presence in the film has definitely helped to strike gold at the box-office.
