The glacier burst in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district has caused severe devastation and sent shock waves across the state as it triggered massive flooding in the Dhauli Ganga, Rishi Ganga, and Alaknanda rivers on Sunday. As many as 15 people have lost their lives due to the flooding and about 150 people are still missing. While people are taking to social media to express their concern, Tollywood star Mahesh Babu and South beauty Hansika Motwani also took out to social media to provide their support to all those affected.

Mahesh Babu wrote, “My thoughts and prayers are with the people of #Uttarakhand at this time. Praying for everyone's safety and well-being. A big salute to the @ITBP_official jawans deployed for search and rescue operations.” Hansika Motwani, on the other hand, wrote on her Instagram space, “Distressed by the tragic disaster that unfolded in Uttarakhand. Thoughts and prayers for everyone's safety.” Their fans and followers took to the comments section and expressed their concern.

As per the latest development, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has removed the debris near Tapovan dam in Chamoli district. Teams of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Indian Army, and NDRF forces are also engaged in the retrieval in the affected areas. It is hoped by the officials that the 2.5 km-long tunnel will be opened by Monday evening. It is feared that as many as 25-30 people are trapped in a huge tunnel near Tapovan, both sides of which are blocked with rubble.
