Did Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi’s romantic film close its OTT deal?
According to online buzz cited by Movies Singapore, the Mani Ratnam directorial starring Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi has finalized its digital rights deal with Netflix. Reportedly, the film's digital rights were acquired for a whopping Rs 20 crore. Additionally, the overseas distribution rights have also been sold, while the audio rights reportedly fetched a significant amount.
However, these details are currently based on reports, and the makers have not made any official announcement.
While more details about the film have yet to be revealed, it is expected to be a quick project and may be wrapped up within 40 days. Reportedly, the shoot is expected to begin soon.
Earlier, the project was announced by Madras Talkies under the tentative title Production No. 23. The film will once again feature AR Rahman as the composer for its songs and background score, putting to rest earlier speculation that the filmmaker might collaborate with Sai Abhyankkar for the project.
Reportedly, the composition work is currently underway, with the composer having already completed two songs.
Vijay Sethupathi’s work front
Vijay Sethupathi will next be seen in the lead role in Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the action film also stars Samyuktha and Tabu in prominent roles.
The actor has also announced another project titled Pocket Novel. Helmed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, the upcoming film marks the director and actor’s second collaboration after Super Deluxe, which also features Malavika Mohanan and Raj B. Shetty in key roles.
Additionally, Vijay Sethupathi is also part of Arasan, which stars Silambarasan TR in the lead role, where he is expected to portray a police officer. Directed by Vetrimaaran, the upcoming film is a spin-off from the Vada Chennai universe led by Dhanush.
On the other hand, Sai Pallavi will be seen essaying the role of Sita Maa in the upcoming Ranbir Kapoor, Yash-led Ramayana.
