Naga Chaitanya is all set to star in the lead role in the upcoming film Vrushakarma. Directed by Virupaksha fame Karthik Varma Dandu, the movie is expected to be one of the major releases of the year.
Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma to release in December 2026
According to 123Telugu, Vrushakarma is eyeing a theatrical release in December 2026. Reports suggest that the film’s post-production work will require additional time, leading to a possible year-end release. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the release so far.
Vrushakarma features Naga Chaitanya in the role of a rugged adventurer, with a glimpse teasing elements of horror, mystery, and thriller.
Following the release of the glimpse earlier, the actor said, “This is a very happy moment for me because we have launched the Vrushakarma glimpse. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time. As Karthik said earlier, I strongly feel that this is going to be the best film of my career, 100 percent. I had this feeling even when I first heard the script.”
Naga Chaitanya further stated that he had always wanted to work on a large-scale spectacle film with a mythical layer and extensive VFX in this genre, adding that Vrushakarma was the answer to that wish.
Apart from Chay, the film also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead. Sparsh Shrivastava plays the antagonist, while Jayaram and Zarina Wahab appear in key roles.
Directed by Karthik Varma Dandu, the film is jointly produced by BVSN Prasad under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Sukumar under Sukumar Writings. The story has been penned by Sukumar, while Neil D Cunha handles the cinematography. B. Ajaneesh Loknath composes the music, and Naveen Nooli is in charge of editing.
Naga Chaitanya’s work front
Naga Chaitanya was last seen in the lead role in Thandel. The Telugu-language romantic action thriller follows the story of Raju, a brave fisherman who accidentally enters Pakistani waters.
The film focuses on his passion for fishing and his love for Sathya, also known as Bujji. Thandel starred Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, alongside Aadukalam Naren, Divya Pillai, Karunakaran, Kalpa Latha, and Babloo Prithiveeraj in key roles.
The film was based on a real-life incident involving a fisherman from Srikakulam and is currently streaming on Netflix.
Looking ahead, the actor is reportedly set to reunite with Vikram Kumar for Dhootha Season 2. However, an official confirmation is yet to be made.
