As Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement on Monday, ending 17 years of international cricket, former cricketers and fans took to Twitter to applaud the left-hander who had left his mark on the Natwest Trophy series in 2002, the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the 2011 World Cup.

What took the Twitter world by storm was when Stuart Broad also wished the Indian for his second innings. The 32-year old is an active member of the England Test team, and he posted a throwback photo with Yuvraj. The Indian had struck Broad for six sixes in an over way back in 2007 in the T20 World Cup, when India thrashed England by 18 runs.

Broad's post brought back memories of that match among the Indian fans. The Englishman, who has often been at the receiving end from the Indian creicket community, was appreciated for his gesture.
