Tandav has been mired in controversies right from the beginning. The latest reports also state that Ali Abbas Zafar including the rest of the team has been granted anticipatory bail by the Bombay High Court amid the same. Now the latest that we know that two scenes have been removed from the web series.

Not only that but the scene from a play and conversation between two main characters from the first episode has also been trimmed from the web series. The nine-part political series features Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Gauahar Khan, Kritika Kamra, Zeeshan Ayyub, Sarah Jane Dias, Sunil Grover, and others in the lead roles. It premiered on January 15 but soon drew flak on various grounds that include allegedly hurting Hindi sentiments. The makers earlier also issued an apology amid the controversy row related to Tandav.

There is a scene where Zeeshan is seen playing Lord Shiva in a play. There is a conversation between the Hindu God and Narad Muni in between the same that drew a lot of flak on social media. This conversation has now been removed and the scene changes immediately after his entry on the stage amid cheers from the crowd. This is followed by police officials entering the college campus to arrest a student. Apart from that, a dialogue that has a reference to a caste has also been shortened now. Another conversation that has been shortened is between the characters of Anup Soni and Tigmanshu Dhulia.

Anonymous : The truth is it is not the religious sentiments that are hurt. It’s the portrayal of the dictator ship policies in India which is being portrayed in the series which has hurt bhakt sentiments. They have been so blinded that they don’t want to believe that we are hurtling towards doom by supporting dictatorship. Alas it will be too late when everyone wakes up and we are like North Korea.
