We are looking back at January 2020 when BLACKPINK member Lisa spoke to Elle Korea and got candid about fashion, her band members and her upcoming projects. During the chat, Lisa expressed her affection for the other BLACKPINK members. She said, “When I think about the time before our debut, I feel something like, ‘We had a lot of fun practising back then!’ I’m the type to always get nervous before I go on stage, but when I see my members, I gain strength.”

She also talked about her role as the “happy virus” in the group and said, “I really like to play pranks and jokes. I work hard to have fun, be happy, and enjoy the day wherever I am.” Lisa was then scheduled to appear as a mentor on the third season of Chinese survival program “Idol Producer.” She said, “I want to share everything I’ve learned until now and help people.”

Currently, Lisa made headline in February for a trending hashtag. One hashtag took over Twitter worldwide on 2nd February 2021 and for reasons that no one would have expected. While #RespectLisa trended worldwide numerous times and every one of those times, it was due to mistreatment of the artist, lack of attention, unreasonable hate sent her way and more. However, this time, things have taken an ugly turn. Lisa is being subjected to discrimination and racism because of her Thai background. Alongside the hashtag "Respect Lisa", two other tags, #SAYNOTORACISM and #STOPRACISM are also trending worldwide to address this issue.
