Back in November 2020, BTS got candid about their career, what kept them going amidst the pandemic and more during a chat with WSJ. Magazine! When asked about their regular comparison to the popular band The Beatles, BTS’  member Jimin said that it’s an honour to even be compared to the Beatles. Group leader RM then described the group as just “seven normal kids” who love music and performance, who have a dream to give hope and love and positive energy and inspiration to people in the world.

Jimin added that what truly makes the team special is their fans. Which is when Jungkook chimed in and said, that the way they can just connect to the listeners is such a huge honour. J-Hope then shared that their “Love Yourself, Speak Yourself” message is special to him too. “BTS has put out this message and shouted it out for our listeners. But in fact, it’s had a large influence on us as well,” he said.

Jin reminisced and added that when he was a student, he couldn’t love himself. But as he started in the music industry, he received so much from people, that he started appreciating himself more. V also stated that while people around the world are going through difficult times, they have to brighten up and use these moments as ammunition to load up our optimism and drive. RM added that this is when the group decided to just focus on what they could do best and that was still music and performance. Suga added that despite the pandemic, the band hoped they could give and gain a little bit of strength and hope from their performances.
