TWICE’s Sana to star as female lead in Nyangi
On July 8, 2026, it was officially confirmed that Sana will star as the female lead in the upcoming Korea-Japan joint production film, tentatively titled Nyangi. Rumors of her stepping into the acting realm have been circulating. Recently, Sana’s agency JYP Entertainment put them to rest and confirmed, “Sana will star as a lead in the film Nyangi,” reported Soompi.
In this debut project, Sana will be working alongside acclaimed Japanese actor Takeru Satoh, best known for his iconic roles in the Rurouni Kenshin film series and the Kamen Rider Den-O franchise.
According to reports, the film will be directed by Kwon Hyuk-chan, and location filming is scheduled to commence in Japan in the second half of 2026. Notably, the production staff will be composed entirely of Korean personnel.
