Deepika Padukone is all set to enthrall the audience with her action-packed avatar in the upcoming film xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, that marks her Hollywood debut. The movie is slated to hit the screens next week in India first, followed by a global release on January 20.

Ahead of the film's release, the makers of the movie have released a new video wherein Deepika talks about her character of Serena.

"When you first meet Serena, you don't know whose side she is on. She is a representation of women in today's world. She is independent, intelligent and can stand up for herself. She is always observing, learning. I think what draws Xander to Serena is the fact that he sees a lot of him in her. You realize how similar they are to each other and then you see how they work together as a team. Slowly you discover that she is there for a much larger mission," describes Deepika.

FLOP

OMG! For every role of hers she says represents today's woman!! Woman shut up will you!! Talk for yourself and how you can relate with the character or not!!!

I like the odds!

she's boring as hell

I love my Deepu she is nailing it. She is her true self. And yes I live in America and speak with my British English accent because that's who I am and it's not a problem.

so lame

They showed her entire role

What she has in looks, she ruins in lack of personality.

Deepika ks the Madhuri Dixit of Bollywood and the Myrel Streep of Hollywood. Plastic Katrina who? Ooh bhai's ex gf

burn haters burn.... jus be proud of ur ppl who are making it big there... both Deepika and Priyanka are awsm individuals who are making it large there and letting globe know more abt INDIA and its ppl

Yes, we are proud of Priyanka Chopra, who has ACTUALLY made is Big in the West, but what are you talking about regarding Deepika, she has not made is big at all, just being part of a film doesn't mean you have become an A lister or have massive success. The reason I say Priyanka Chopra has made it HUGE is based on her numerous International Magazine covers (including the Time Cover), her frequent visits to popular daytime and nighttime TV Chat Shows (shows her popularity), her gracing the Red Carpets at various prestigious Awards (Oscars, Emmy, SAGs and now the Golden Globes), her nationwide Pantene Commercial (which I screamed after watching Priyanka suddenly appear on the TV screen), and being Unicef's Global Brand Ambassador. And not to mention, Priyanka Chopra have received 2 awards, the people's choice for Best Actress in a new TV series and Instyle Awards. So the proof is in the pudding; regardless about one's feelings about Priyanka Chopra, she has proven her worth and medal and has made it BIG! There is NO comparison to Deepika, who is just beginning her journey.

Yes but PC has a better international profile too because she was Miss World, she's a singer and released an album and then she got Quantico and Baywatch.. so it's a slow process anyhow, DP's international resume is not good, for eg: she's not a L'Oreal Ambassador at Cannes like Sonam, and she's not been on any international covers, still inspite of that, she's made it to XXX, now that's hard work and dedication.. and when DP was asked about her strong Indian accent - she simply said that it's time the world heard the Indian accent..as opposed to PC who swings the American accent in her interviews.. they are two completely different people but strong ladies :)

I just wish instead of this stupid promos she just learnt to speak english with american accent.

The no. of lines which dp said in this video are more than her dialogues in film.

lol the length of her speech on her role is more than her role in film.
