Indian cricket team’s Vice Captain and opener, Rohit Sharma expressed his love for the fellow cricketer and said that he deserved a better farewell. Twitter was flooded with wishes for the former cricketer and Rohit Sharma took this opportunity to express himself. He tweeted, “You don’t know what you got till its gone. Love you brotherman. You deserved a better send off. @YUVSTRONG12”

Yuvraj Singh also replied to Rohit’s post and tweeted, “You know how I feel inside! Love you brothaman you go to be legend.”

In the press conference where he announced his retirement, Yuvraj also revealed that he was offered a farewell game by the BCCI given that he failed the Yo-Yo fitness test. However, he told them that if he doesn’t pass the Yo-Yo test, he would go home quietly and that he doesn’t need a retirement game. Yuvraj passed the test but was never called back in to the team. However, Yuvraj later stated that he would not like to further comment on this issue as India is playing the World Cup. He wants the players to be in the best state of mind and doesn’t want any controversies surrounding them right now. Yuvraj Singh is not the only Indian cricketer who didn’t receive the farewell they deserved. Several other cricketing legends including the likes of Rahul Dravid, Virendra Sehwag, VVS Laxman didn’t get a farewell game. Yuvraj Singh played his last ODI in June 2017 against West Indies.
