Film to release with 200 prints after good reception at film fest

Guzaarish (2010) might have got a lukewarm response in India but that doesn’t stop it from being hugely popular in Korea. The film that closely explores the life of a quadriplegic, opened to a packed house at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). But what’s most significant is
that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film will also have a historic release with over 200 prints in South Korea, the first-ever for a Bollywood film, in November.

“Guzaarish was a highly-awaited screening at the Busan International Film Festival. The 900-seater screen was full. UTV will now work with our local distributors to release Guzaarish theatrically in over 200 screens in South Korea next month,” confirms Amrita Pandey, senior VP (international distribution & syndication), UTV Motion Pictures. Released last year, Guzaarish starred Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles.

Bhansali couldn’t be present to grace the event, given the release of his first home production, My Friend Pinto, but he was ecstatic to hear about the feedback. “I feel honoured. I have learnt so much about living a good life, of becoming a better human being and of evolving as a person while working on the film,” says Bhansali.

Not long ago, Guzaarish also made its way to the Academy Awards library. Interestingly, Bhansali’s earlier film Black (2005) also met with success when it was released theatrically in South Korea, remaining the highest-grossing Hindi film till date.

Losers, they did not see the movie that's why they think she is smiling.

she's not smiling. she's crying there morons

Tisk Tisk....her smile is so painful....=O

her smile is 100% fake !

Wow that's nice, congrates to them! And I love the golden lights of the pic above!

hmmmmmmm. gud

AsHrithik in reverse roles where he is the caretaker and she is ill/dying - next project together. Vishal Bhardwaj's next is something similar.

This movie is very special. I am glad it has made its recovery and got all the critical acclaim it deserved. Kudos to the talented team of SLB, Ash and Duggu.

Dhoom 2, Jodhaa Akbar and Guzaarish. Wow! this pair never disappoints me..!!

AISH, AISH AISH. THIS LADY WILL NEVER FALL DOWN, NEVER. SHE'S BEEN VERY BLESS.

Omg these ash fans! GOD, the movie is ABOUT HRITHIK and NOT her.

And who is the nurse in that movie, tell me is not Sophia. AISH ALL THE WAY. just digest the fact that, she's been blessed and there is nothing u haters can do. Keep insulting her. But she is better than the stars u like.

AsHrithk next movie should be with Vishal Bhardwaj

Great movie. Very few movies address controversial topics and Guzaarish did it wonderfully. I agree with Anon below that the budget was too high for an art film.

AISH, AISH AISH. THIS LADY WILL NEVER FALL DOWN, NEVER. SHE'S BEEN VERY BLESS.

Wow, this is great news! I think Guzaarish was a wonderful movie, HR and Aishu's performances were absolutely fabulous!

Aww, I simply adore the poster!! So beautiful!!

The truth never fails.

good. the movie deserves recognition. Thumbs Up

agreed with the anon below-- indian audiences always like movie where a boy chases girl, or rich poor thing but never like movies which have soul, critics wise good movies fail and thats the reason there are few movie which directors want to make...
its just like a game and business, prettiest and fair girl, super star actor and the boy chases girl or girl is rich and poor boy and there u go, superhit film...
films like guzaarish dont do well on screen!!! and films like Rab ne bana di jodi is a hit! Heights..
no offence to any particular star but in bollywood beauty sells where actually talent should be given more importance...
well happy to see Guzaarish doing well... one of my favorite movies!!

and to end it i would like to say this was personally my opinion so kindly spare me with rude attacks.. thanks :)

AISH, AISH AISH. THIS LADY WILL NEVER FALL DOWN, NEVER. SHE'S BEEN VERY BLESS.

A great film is always recognized no matter what. People fail to recognize that Guzaarish made much more money than semi-hits like Paa, NOKJ, etc. If anything failed in Guzaarish it was only the budget. Who makes an art film at a 60cr budget? :S

Anyway who cares about box office with movies like Ready, Bodyguard, Housefull etc being hits. Critical acclaim is way more important which the film got! Glad on it :)
