Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “Happy New Year” is racing fast towards earning Rs.200 crore in the domestic market. At the end of the second week, the movie has raked in Rs.193.44 crore at the domestic box-office.

Directed by Farah Khan, “Happy New Year” also features Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Vivaan Shah and Jackie Shroff. It released in theatres a day after Diwali on October 24.

In the second week, during the weekend the movie collected Rs.22.23 crore, on Monday it made Rs.3.31 crore and the collection on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were Rs.4.06 crore, Rs.2.76 crore and Rs.3.51 crore, respectively. The movie did a good business on Tuesday and Thursday because of the Muharram and Guru Nanak Jayanti holidays.

Trade pundits have predicted the movie’s lifetime domestic collection will cross Rs.250 crore. They said that though it will be able to beat the collections of Salman Khan’s “Kick” and Hrithik Roshan’s “Krrish 3”, it is doubtful that it will beat Aamir Khan’s “Dhoom:3”.

Congrats. way to go. It is my favorite daughter movie now!:)

The way I see regular people react to the film and me watching it few times in different places and times show that the film is quite appreciated beyond the cynicals on the net. So congrats to the team and SRK.

Love how the news and titles are twisted in favour of HNY always. Second week collection was 35 Crores and for it to surpass 250, it will have to run in theatres for 2 weeks more.

How much was the total budget of the movie?
