Film: NH10

Singers: Kanika Kapoor, Dipanshu Pandit, Mohit Chauhan, Nayantara Bhatkal, Savera Mehta, Neeti Mohan, Samira Koppikar, Shila Rao, Rachel Varghese, Arijit Singh

Rating: ***

Revolving around a young married couple played by Anushka Sharma and Neil Bhoopalam, director Navdeep Singh’s ‘NH10’ album boasts of eight tracks and one instrumental.

The album begins with Kanika Kapoor and Dipanshu Pandit’s ‘Chhil gaye naina’. Having sung happy songs like ‘Baby doll’ and ‘Chittiyan kalaiyaan’, Kanika’s rendition of ‘Chhil gaye naina’ is fabulous. This intense rock number sets the expectation for the next songs in the album.

Next up is Mohit Chauhan’s version of ‘Le chal muje’. It is a beautiful song with deep lyrics. What more can one want when the man behind the mic is Mohit Chauhan? He makes this song perfect.

It is followed by ‘Main jo’. Crooned by Nayantara Bhatkal and Savera Mehta, this one a fun, happy and romantic song. It is dreamy and will make you smile and blush at the same time.

Mohit and Neeti Mohan’s ‘Khoney de’ is next in the album. The song begins on a soothing note. The singers have done a great job in this romantic track.

Next up is Samira Koppikar’s ‘Maati ka palang’. The lyrics has deep hidden meaning. However, it has a beautiful combination of guitars and sitar-tabla and Samira’s voice is truly admirable.

Shilpa Rao’s version of ‘Le chal mujhe’ comes next in the album. This is a more soulful track and Shilpa’s soothing voice adds to it.

It is followed by Rachel Varghese’s ‘Kya karein’. Rachel is the star of the song. It is a soft and soothing number.

Next up is ‘Le chal mujhe’ reprise version by Arijit Singh. This song will just melt your heart.

All in all, the ‘NH10’ album is a mix of intense and romantic songs. For me ‘Main jo’ and Arijit’s ‘Le chal mujhe’ are the stars of the album.
