Our hair and scalp need moisturizing just as much as our skin. We tend to expose our hair to very harsh weather conditions and a lot of pollution. Our scalp and hair also suffer a lot of damage due to the styling and the hair products that we use. This is why it is essential to use natural products every once in a while to nourish and moisturize them. A natural conditioner is a great way to replace the chemical-based products and they can nourish and strengthen your hair. Here are some home remedies to condition your hair.

1. Banana

Put some banana pieces in a bowl and mash it together. Now add a little honey and olive oil and mix it well. Ensure that there are no lumps in the mixture. Apply this smooth mixture all over your hair and leave it in for about 20 to 30 minutes. Wash it off with a mild shampoo. Banana has vitamins and minerals that nourish and condition your hair.

2. Yogurt

Yogurt is great for your hair as it is rich in probiotics and helps nourish and moisturize your hair and scalp. It makes for a great hair conditioner. You can apply plain yogurt on your hair or you can add a few drops of peppermint or your favourite essential oil to a bowl of yogurt before apply it on your hair. Keep it for 15 to 20 minutes and let it dry before you wash it off.

3. Aloe Vera

You cannot use pure aloe vera gel on your hair. Scrape some aloe vera gel in a bowl and add a tablespoon of olive oil or almond oil. You can choose to put a few drops of essential oil as well but regular oil will be a better choice. Mix it well and apply it on your hair, leave it for 10 to 15 minutes and wash it with a mild shampoo.

4. Egg

An egg is a great moisturizer. Break 2 eggs and put it in a bowl and whisk it. You can either apply it pure or you can add a little bit of honey to this mixture and some freshly squeezed lemon juice. Now, apply this to your hair properly and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes and let it dry. Rinse it with a very mild shampoo and you’ll find shining hair.

5. Beer

Beer is great for your hair. It can moisturize your hair so instead of drinking beer, pour some on your hair. Leave it in for 2 to 5 minutes and then rinse it properly with cold water. Ensure that you clean your hair properly when you rinse it to ensure that no beer is left in your hair.

6. Avocado

Peel an avocado and depending on your hair length and thickness made a paste of avocado. Now, add a spoon full of olive oil and a little bit of honey to this mixture. Mix it well and ensure that there are no lumps. Avoid applying this on your scalp. Leave it in for 5 to 10 minutes and wash it off.
