5 Home remedies that BOOST healthy nails & make them sparkle and shine naturally

Cracking nails, flaky ones and extremely brittle nails are very common among those who are constantly getting them done or those who pay no attention to them at all. Excess use of nail polish remover causes them to go dry and excessive use of nail paints turns them yellow over time. Thankfully, caring for them isn't as expensive as one would think and multiple home remedies do the trick. Read on to find out more.

Tea Tree Oil
Known for its antifungal properties, this carrier oil is excellent for keeping nails clean and healthy. Dab some tea tree oil on cotton swabs and apply it on your nails once every day for a week, for best results.

Lemon Juice + Baking Soda
If your nails have turned yellow due to over-application of nail paints, skip the salon appointment and whiten your nails at home! Make a thin paste with juice from one lemon and a dash of baking soda and scrub your nails thoroughly with this mixture. Leave on for 10 minutes before washing off, to get the best results.

Coconut Oil
The go-to for any skin or body problem, coconut oil is known for keeping cuticles and nails healthy. Massage your nails with the oil for stronger and healthier nails over time.

Garlic
The cloves of garlic contain antifungal and antibacterial properties that can keep fungus from your feet at bay. If your toes are prone to an infection or are infected, crush some garlic cloves to form a paste and apply it on the area till it heals.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water to form a solution. Soak your nails in this or use a cotton swab to apply it to your nails if they are prone to breaking easily or have turned yellow. This will make them clean, shiny and back to life.
