We tend to roam a lot in the sun, and due to pollution and stress, our skin leads to becoming dull and dry soon. Well, it's not the tan and you don't get dark. Over some time your skin starts layering it with dead cells, and hence, it appears darker. It also makes your skin prone to blemishes and fine lines. When it comes to cleansing your skin, soap and water are not sufficient to clear the layer of dead skin. One needs to exfoliate the skin regularly to maintain the health of the skin. Exfoliation will keep your skin soft and your pores clean. It will prevent any acne, blackheads and whiteheads from cropping up too.

Exfoliation is necessary for all skin types. You should be exfoliating your facial skin and the rest of the body, especially areas like elbows, knees, feet that tend to become dark. If you are someone who's facing issues with dead skin and want to get rid of it without spending much, then here are some homemade scrubs that you should try. These homemade scrubs will naturally exfoliate your skin and will give you a supple, glowing skin.

Oatmeal which is used as a healthy meal option can be great as an exfoliator too. The grainy texture of oatmeal works well on all skin types to get rid of the dead skin. Apart from getting rid of dead skin, it will also get rid of excess sebum and other impurities. In a bowl take 2 tbsp each of oatmeal and yogurt and 1 tbsp of honey. In a bowl, mix equal amounts of orange peel powder and yogurt. Apply it on your face and neck and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then gently rub off the paste in circular motions with wet hands. Use this method once a week.
