Who doesn't like it when their hair looks amazing and shiny? But what happens when you wake up with an oily and sticky scalp? A greasy or oily scalp is a very common problem in today's time. We often make mistakes that lead us to a greasy scalp but a number of people have naturally greasy scalp. A sticky or greasy scalp looks dirty and unkempt. This look doesn't really go with our personalities and it is essential to look good wherever you go. You cannot step out looking like you've lathered your hair with tonnes of oil. Other than this an oily scalp can also irritate you because it makes your scalp feel greasy and sticky and it also makes your hair feel oily. It makes it impossible to even touch your hair and it often becomes a source of embarrassment. Now, in order to keep your hair dry and beautiful, you can focus on a better hair care routine.

Here are some tips to treat your greasy hair and scalp.

1. Shampoo your hair well. Washing your hair too much can strip your scalp off, of its natural oils and in order to make up for that, your scalp may produce more to balance it out and keep your hair hydrated. If you wash your hair too less, that may cause a problem as well. Not washing your hair allows the dirt to pile up on your hair and scalp along with the excess oil.

2. Touching your hair and scalp too much may stimulate it and cause it to increase the oil production and you may even add on some excess oil by touching them because your skin too has some natural oil of its own.

3. Cleanse your hair with some aloe vera gel or juice. You can use aloe vera juice to rinse your hair or use a bowl of aloe vera gel with 1 spoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Apply this on your hair and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes before you rinse it with plain water.

4. Epsom salt is known to absorb the excess oil from your scalp and hair. Try mixing some Epsom salt with your shampoo and use it normally to cleanse your hair. The Epsom salt with soak the extra oil and leave your scalp oil-free.

5. You can also use some cocoa powder like a dry shampoo to absorb the excess oil and leave your hair feeling and smelling fresh and delicious. Sprinkle some cocoa powder on your hair and scalp and let it sit for 2 to 3 minutes before you brush it off.
