The winter is here and it means that your skin will start losing its moisture by getting dry, flakey or even itchy. While it is the case, we all have to be extra careful with the skincare and understand that what usually works wonders on the skin throughout the year might not work in the winter. The skin needs extra moisture and hydration during this season and the only right and natural way to do it is by using home remedies. So, here we have some easy remedies and ingredients you can use to keep your skin hydrated, moisturised and supple.

First up, we have olive oil and it is that one ingredient that you can easily find in your kitchen. It is a natural oil so it is loaded with antioxidants and fats that help in keeping the skin moisturised. If you are not a fan of oily substances on your body, you can apply a few drops of olive oil on your face and body and use it as an overnight therapy. It will help in repairing the skin and also work in preventing age-related wrinkles and lines.

Honey is another naturally found moisturiser and it is gentle so can be directly used on the skin. You can directly massage it on to your skin for about 10 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. You can also use it as a binding agent in any DIY face masks that you make.

This is clearly the best home remedy you can use for your skin. Coconut oil is easily available and the fattiness in it will help you keep your skin hydrated and moisturised like nothing else. You can use it an overnight therapy or even as a DIY makeup remover.

If you are experiencing itchiness with dry skin, the right and easy way to cure it is by using yoghurt. You can massage it to your sin and leave it on for 10 minutes. Follow it by washing it with lukewarm water. Yoghurt is a natural moisturiser and it’s cooling properties will also tame the itchiness.

This is not more of a natural remedy but it is definitely a great one. Vitamin E is something you find in most skin care products and it is the best to keep your skin soft and supple. Now, you can easily buy vitamin E oil or Vitamin E capsules at any drug store under Rs 25. Puncture one capsule in your favourite moisturiser and mix it well. Apply every day for great results.
