Since the time we have been introduced to Korean skincare, we’ve not looked back. Koreans have introduced the world to a whole new dimension of skin care. Hydrating the skin has become one of the major steps in our skin care routines, all thanks to K-beauty. Impeccably smooth, translucent skin, exceptionally smooth, even-toned and lustrous skin are some ways one can define glass skin. By the looks of it, achieving glass-like skin can seem to be difficult. But, using the right techniques and products can make your #GlassSkin dreams come to life.

The most important part of K-beauty is to use products made for your skin. To get the most out of your glass skin routine, you need to use products that are highly hydrating, lightweight, filled with antioxidants, and loaded with high-quality ingredients. Maintaining the pH level of your skin can help you achieve skin literally clear as glass.

1: Double Cleanse:

Yes, you read it right. Double cleansing is something that the K-beauty industry has taught us and honestly, nothing has been the same ever since. (all hail double cleansing!!).  This method involves removing your makeup with an oil-based cleanser and washing your face with a water-based face wash. Make sure you use products that do not dry out your skin.

2: Exfoliate:

We cannot talk about clear skin without exfoliation. Using exfoliators that are gentle and only remove the dead cells are the best ones. Don’t overdo it, though. Two to three times weekly is ideal to avoid irritations, especially if you have sensitive skin.

3: Toning:

This is the step that everyone forgets very often. Cleansing opens up your pores and leaves them open if you do not follow it up with a toner. However, traditional toners are often ignored because some find them to be too drying, use toners that are alcohol-free and hydrates your skin. Toner closes your pores, softens your skin, restores its pH balance, and in the end results in soft, plump skin.

4: Essence:

Essence is a liquid like serum that is lightweight and easy to absorb. You can essentially call them a cross between toners and serums. According to Dermstore, “ They’re formulated to address skin concerns like pigmentation and redness but with the added purpose of delivering mega moisture and hydration.

5: Serum:

This is the step when your skin care routine is taken to another level (do you hear the gods singing in the background?). Stylecraze says, “A serum does more than hydrating your skin – it evens out your skin tone, plumps up your skin, reduces fine lines, and maintains the moisture balance in your skin throughout the day.”

6: Moisturize (A lot!):

Moisturizing is a no-brainer in any skin care routine, but when you’re aiming for that luminescent look, you’ll want to reach for one that is lightweight yet packs maximum moisture. You need to use a moisturizer that is meant for your skin type, does not cause breakouts, and has a calming and brightening effect.

7: Eye cream:

You cannot achieve glass-like skin if you have literal dark patches and bags hanging under your eyes. Make sure to use a serum or eye cream that to nourish the fragile eye area that tends to be drier than the rest of your face.

8: Seal it in with a sheet mask:

K-beauty has given us some of the best skin care tips and tricks, but masks are arguably the ones the beauty world is most obsessed with. Hydrating masks are essential to lock everything in and an easy way to soothe tired skin, repair the damage done throughout the day.

K-beauty has given us everything but achievable glass skin has been our personal favourite. It’s important to remember that there is no shortcut to achieving flawless, ethereal-looking skin and LITERALLY, the #glassskin photos on our feed can come true with consistency and commitment to the right skin care regimen.
