Effective DIY homemade turmeric face masks for all skin types

It is rightly said that no one knows the secrets about beauty like our adorable grandmothers. Of course all of us have memories of our “dadis and nanis” giving us those perfect head massages or giving us easy home remedies from the kitchen which gives an instant relief to our body problems.

India truly is a blessed country. We are blessed with so much of knowledge about culture, food and beauty that visiting a doctor was a completely foreign concept. Do you get deadly stares from your grandparents when you show them some cool new face masks that you’ve just got off the market? The usual answer answer that we often receive from them is that this is all artificial beauty and we should turn to home remedies. Well, clearly that is turning out to be true as most beauty brands are now getting “inspired” by the Indian beauty remedies.

Turmeric or haldi has a very important role in the Indian culture. It is medicinal, used for cooking and of course how can we forget, it is the magic weapon when it comes to beauty. In fact it is so popular in India that there is a complete ceremony dedicated to it in the Hindu wedding pre-rituals.

Today we’ve taken this super important kitchen ingredient and we bring to your various turmeric face packs for every skin type.

Oily skin

Majority of the women in our country have oily skin. An easy face pack for anyone possessing this skin type is to take the ultimate combination of haldi and yoghurt or dahi. Mix the two together, make sure you do not add any water to it. Apply it on the face evenly and let it sit for a good 15-20 minutes or till the time it becomes slightly dry. Wash it off with cold water and see your skin glow.

Dry skin

Another common problem is with people having dry skin wherein the skin starts looking pale. Use this face mask to bring on the glow and restore moisture. Take 1 teaspoon of cream, one pinch of turmeric, 1 teaspoon of chandan and 2 tablespoon of gram flour or besan - mix them all too well and then apply it evenly on your face. Make sure you don’t make it of a runny consistency and let it sit evenly all over your face. Leave it on for about 20 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. Repeat this once every week to get that stunning spark and glow on your face.

Sensitive skin

A lot of women would agree to this as they all tend to have super sensitive skin and hence cannot apply any beauty products to get the glow. All you ladies can just take some haldi, 2 teaspoon of multani mitti, 1 teaspoon of yoghurt and add freshly scooped aloe vera gel to it. Mix it all together and apply it on the face. Leave it on for about 20 minutes and then wash it off with water. It works!

Dull skin

Feeling that your skin is looking way too dull and worn out? We’ve got an easy turmeric home pack for you. Take some turmeric, add honey and then cornstarch to bind it all together. Apply it on your face and let it rest for a good 30 minutes. Wash it off with cool water and see the results for yourself.

Acne prone skin

Acne is that one common problem shared amongst all the women. Get rid of all your chemical remedies and opt for this turmeric face pack. Just take 2 teaspoons of yoghurt, 1 teaspoon of multani mitti, rosewater, turmeric and chandan powder. Mix it all together into a smooth paste and apply it all over your face. Leave it on for 15 minutes and wash it away with water. Yoghurt in the concoction helps in fighting the bacteria which causes acne.

Turmeric is honestly the best gift that nature could have given to mankind. It is multi-functional and majorly beneficial. If you know of any more face masks made out of turmeric that we can use then do comment below and let us know.
