When it comes to hair care, we often make sure to trim our hair once every three months, so that the split ends and the deadlocks get chopped, and our locks come back to life. We use the right shampoo, conditioner and oil to maintain the natural shine and bounce of our hair. But at times, in spite of doing all this, we still don't manage to achieve the desired length of the hair. And if you are someone who is facing the same issue, then don't worry beer has got you covered this time.

Beer is packed with a mineral called silica. Silica is known to add volume to hair and makes it thicker. Hence, beer is one of the ingredients that you could use to promote hair growth while improving hair health. Apart from silica, beer also contains phosphorus, copper, magnesium, iron and B vitamins. It also conditions your hair while maintaining the pH level of your scalp, keeping it from getting too dry or oily.

Here's how you can use beer for hair growth.

1. Beer rinse

Beer will cleanse your hair and balance the pH of your scalp. It will seal your cuticles to your hair while controlling frizz. Take 1 cup beer and leave it in a bowl throughout the night so that it goes flat. Wash your hair with your regular shampoo and conditioner. Once conditioned, pour the flat beer through your hair. Massage it into your scalp and hair and then let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse the beer out of your hair with water. Do this once a week for better results.

2. Beer and Honey

This beer hair mask is best for people with dry to normal hair. It works to improve scalp health, to promote healthy hair growth. Blend 1/2 cup dark beer, 1 tbsp honey, 1 banana and 1 egg yolk in a bowl to form a smooth mixture. Start applying the mixture by massaging it into your roots and then working it down the length of your hair to the tips. Once you’ve covered your scalp and hair in the mixture, cover your hair with a shower cap to avoid a mess. Let the mixture sit for 2 hours, then wash the mixture with shampoo. Do it once a week for better results.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar and Beer

This pack should be used twice a month. It is a deep cleansing treatment that helps get rid of all the product buildup in your hair while also preventing issues such as clogging of the hair follicles. Take 1 cup beer and leave it in a bowl throughout the night so that it goes flat. Mix 1/4th cup cider vinegar with the beer in a jug. Wash your hair with shampoo and condition. Once conditioned, pour the beer and apple cider vinegar mixture through your hair. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse the beer out of your hair with warm water.

This mask is apt for people with oily hair. It adds volume and shine to your hair while eliminating excess oils and follicle-clogging. In a bowl, mash the strawberries to make it pulpy.
