Beetroot has a very high nutritional value and is great for your overall health. It is rich in proteins and minerals and vitamins. It helps manage blood sugar, diabetes and other chronic health conditions. But, what most people are unaware of is that beetroot has a lot of skincare and haircare benefits as well. Beet helps keep our skin healthy and clear. It prevents skin related problems and gives you flawless skin without many efforts. Instead of using chemical-based beauty products we need to nourish our skin with natural and fresh ingredients that are easy to find locally. There's a huge market for organic beauty products as well but there's nothing better than using something that you've bought and made yourself. Making a fresh beetroot face mask is much better than using beauty products with beetroot essence because no matter how organic these products are they still contain preservatives.

Here are some beetroot facemasks that you can make at home.

1. Mix some beetroot juice with some freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey. Mix it well and apply this on your face using a cotton pad or a cotton ball. Let it stay for 15 minutes before you wash it off. This mixture helps you achieve glowing skin and reduces dark circles.

2. Mix beetroot juice with gram flour (besan) and curd. Stir it well and make a smooth paste to ensure that there are no lumps. Apply a thin coat of this paste on your face and let it dry. Once it dries, clean it with warm water. This face mask helps clear your skin and lighten your skin tone while also removing tan.

3. Take Multani mitti in a bowl and mix it with fresh beetroot paste. Now, add fresh lemon juice to it. Mix it well and apply a thin layer of this paste on your face and neck. Let it dry and then rinse it off with some lukewarm water.

4. Next, mix aloe vera gel with rice flour in a bowl. Take a few beetroot pieces and grind them into a paste. Mix these two to make a smooth paste without any lumps. Apply this all over your face and let it sit for 20 minutes and rinse your face with cold water.
