How often have you peeked into a Hermes showroom and been vowed by the items present inside? The bags, the accessories, the fragrances and everything else. Now, get set to crave for more! The brand known for its luxury leather goods has announced that it will be launching an all new skincare line in 2020 that will be developed in-house. It is a move by the brand to become a 306 degree luxury brand.

A spokesperson told Business of Fashion, that third-party suppliers in France and Italy will manufacture the products but formulated in-house. “It’s a new activity, with all the risks it involves, so we will deploy it progressively, initially in our own stores mainly in a limited distribution so that we can learn,” Axel Dumas, CEO of Hermes said. He also talked about how he wants the brand to become a global beauty brand and for that, the brand needs the “three axes” – skincare, makeup and fragrance.

The brand already has a fragrance line that has been well received by customers worldwide. The brand has also announced that all future packaging of these products will be plastic-free to suit all customers.

With the skincare and cosmetic market currently booming, the brand could not have picked a better time to announce the launch of the new products.
