The feeling of wearing white clothes is like no other. This colour makes you feel clean, crisp and in order. Not only does it look good but it somehow makes you look fresher and neater. Who can ever say no to wearing a spotless white shirt or a t-shirt? Or even better, white pants! While you have a ball of a time sporting the pristine colour, we doubt if your maid will be as happy about it as you are. 

Yes! Of course, we all know that wearing white can be a bit of a task and a challenge too; especially in this weather. Clearly, our obsession with this hue invites a heavy load of criticism from our mothers and our maids. The biggest issue with white has to be the stains that follow and to get rid of them is not less than fighting any war. However, like always we’ve got your back as we’ve listed down easy DIY home remedies which will help you get rid of those ugly stains from your white piece of clothing. 

First up, word of warning, do not ever soak your pieces of clothing in hot water. Always soak them or rinse them in cold water. Let’s get into more details and hacks now.

Yes! Vinegar can do wonders. All you’ve got to do is add ½ cup of vinegar to the bucket or wash cycling of your white clothes. However, do not use vinegar for protein stains. You can use them for tomato or fruit stains. You can also soak your article of clothing in a bucket with a little vinegar, leave it overnight and wash it off the next day. 

Lemon

Take some water and added lime slices to it and bring it to a boil. Pour that water in a tub and soak your clothes with stains on it. Leave it on for an hour and then wash it away. 

Lemon juice and salt

One remedy which is sure to get you results is this one. Rub some lemon juice on the stain, leave it on for a while and then apply salt on it. Let the mixture be left on overnight and then wash it off with cold water. 

Baking soda and water

Baking soda is a great remedy and gift to mankind. It has its own share of benefits and get rid of stains is one of them. Take 2 tablespoon of baking soda and mix it with a little bit of water to make a paste out of it. Apply it on the affected area and leave it on for about 5 minutes. Rinse and wash it off with cold water. 

Talcum powder

Yes. Who would have known that talcum powder can do so many wonders. Apply some talcum powder on the affected area, leave it on for 4-5 hours and then wash it off with cold water. 

Cornstarch

Cornstarch is also great if you want to get rid of the ugly stains. Apply some cornstarch and leave it on for a bit. Keep rubbing it on the stain till the time it vanishes. This works wonder when the stain is of grease or oil.

The above mentioned remedies are super useful if you want to save yourself from your mother’s scoldings. Just use these and you’ll live in peace. Also, as soon as you stain your article of clothing, make sure you immediately rinse it under cold water.
