But who would have ever thought that salt would also be of a major help in getting rid of dandruff. Either you get patchy dandruffs which comes from time to time or someone who is consistently facing this issue, salt works wonders and is a massive help. 

 

Salt a great remedy for dandruff

 

Sweat and oiliness are one of the causes of dandruff. However, salt helps a lot in absorbing all the excess oil from the scalp. 

 

Excess of humidity can lead to fungal growth and also causes dandruff. Salt helps in absorbing the excess moisture and also fights off the fungal growth. 

 

Clogged pores are one of the biggest causes of dandruff. Salt helps in loosening up the flakes on the scalp by exfoliating it. 

 

 

Ways to use salt to get rid of dandruff

 

Salt and olive oil 

Olive oil is a natural conditioner and it also helps in strengthening the scalp. The Vitamin C in the lemon juice helps in treating dandruff and also helps in hair growth. For this remedy, all you need is 2 tablespoon of sea salt, 1-2 tablespoon of olive oil and 1-2 tablespoon of lemon juice. Mix all of them together, dampen your hair and apply the solution on the scalp and cover it completely. Massage it in circular motions with your fingertips and there on leave it on for 5 minutes. Wash your hair with a sulphate free shampoo and apply conditioner. Note that your apply the conditioner from the mid length till the ends and not from the scalp. 

 

 

Salt rinse

This one is an extremely easy and quick remedy. It works out as salt helps in getting rid of the dead skin and also helps in losing the flakes. Heat the amount of water you’ll need to rinse your hair and apply 2 tablespoon of salt in it. Once the salt has dissolved in, let the solution cool down. Run the solution through your hair and then wash it off with a mild sulfate free shampoo. Apply conditioner from the mid lengths till the end and wash it off with lukewarm water. 

 

 

Salt shampoo

Try this solution twice a week and bid adieu to all your dandruff problems. All you need is half a tablespoon of salt and one tablespoon of shampoo. Add some salt to the shampoo and mix it well till it is dissolved nicely. Take the solution on the fingertips and massage it on the scalp. Wash your hair with cool water. Condition your hair from the mid length till the very end. Continue doing this twice or thrice a week to get the best results. 

 

 

Epsom salt

Used also to ward off evil, epsom salt is a super remedy is your want to get rid of dandruff. All you’ve got to do is dampen your hair with warm water completely. Massage your hair with epsom salt and cover it completely. Leave it on for about 5 minutes and then shampoo your hair with a sulphate free shampoo. Apply the conditioner from the mid-length till the very end and try this out twice a week.
