Essentially, blackheads are clogged pores that collect excess oil and sebum. These clogged spots become dark due to pollution and sun exposure making them look dark and pigmented. While blackheads can be removed with a good scrub, some of the pores are stubborn and tend to remain clogged no matter what. While getting a fancy facial is not always an option, these home remedies can prove to be beneficial to extract that gunk out of your pores.

1.  EGG WHITE | LEMON

This is the easiest way to get rid of all those stubborn blackheads. All you need is one egg white and a teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix it all together and with a facial brush apply it to your face. Make sure to keep it away from your eyebrows and eyes. Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes and it should dry on your face. Once dries, wash it off with cool water and pat the skin dry. Follow it up by religiously simmering the face with a moisturiser.

Lemon is a natural bleaching agent, removed the dark spots and the egg whites on the other hand tones the skin to shut the pores.

2. BAKING SODA | HONEY

All you need to make this face mask is 2 tablespoons of baking and honey. Mix it all together and apply it on the face. Leave it on for about 10-15 minutes and wash it all off with cold water. Make sure you do not keep the baking soda on the skin for a long while as it can prove to be harmful to the open pores.

Baking soda is a natural exfoliator that scrapes off all the dead skin cells while neutralising the pH level of the skin. Honey, on the other hand, balances the exfoliation and gives the skin a moisturising effect. You can use this mask only on the T-zone if you have sensitive skin.
