Skin Care: Easy and affordable ways to use rose water on acne prone skin

Rosewater is a miracle skincare ingredient and it is clearly underrated. Apart from using it as a toner, it is also used in a lot of beauty products. It helps in balancing the pH level of the skin to soothing the skin by calming irritation. As an addition to that, it also proves effective in the makeup removal process. Rosewater truly does it all! While it is great for these issues, it also works wonders in the acne department by toning the skin and helps to tackle it. So here are some easy and affordable ways to use rose water on acne-prone skin.

Face Mist

This is the best and easiest way to use rose water. Start by washing your face with a facial cleanser. Once done, pat it dry. Now, spritz rose water on the face with a spray bottle. Leave on the rose water for a few minutes until it dries off. Once done, apply moisturiser on the damp skin.

How does it benefit? - Rosewater has excellent antibacterial and pH balancing properties that do not let acne-causing bacteria enter the pores of the skin. Rosewater also tones the skin to remove the excess buildup of oil from the skin.

Vitamin C

For this solution, all you need is 1 vitamin C tablet (powdered form) and rose water. Now mix them both together until you get a smooth paste. Once you have the paste ready, clean your face and apply it on the affected areas. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and rinse it off with cold water.

Vitamin C works well in fighting skin damage because it has strong anti-inflammatory properties that help get rid of pimples faster. It also helps in boosting the collagen on the skin which heals acne scars faster.

For this skincare regime, you will need - 1 tsp of lemon and 1tbsp of rose water. Now mix it all together in a bowl and use a cotton pad to apply the mixture on the face. Leave it on for 15 minutes and rinse it off with cool water. Make sure to try it in a patch first because the acidic properties in the lemon might irritate your skin.

Lemon is rich in antioxidants that help in keeping the skin young, nourished and radiant. It is also used as a mild whitening agent that helps reduce acne scars.

Apple cider Vinegar

Start by mixing 2 tsp apple cider vinegar with ½ cup pure rose water. Soak a cotton pad in it and apply the mixture to the face. Gently dab it to your face and let it dry. Once dry, apply moisturiser to seal it in.

This is the best to control oily skin. The ACV also gives your skin an antioxidant boost by refining your pores and preventing future breakouts.
