The cooling cucumber is one of the best ingredients you can find in your kitchen. Its cooling properties add a great flavour to your salad and might just be the exact thing you are for the lookout in your skincare routine. While cucumber has been used as a home remedy for years now, its extracts are widely used in skincare products all over the world.

Cucumber nourishes the skin and keeps it hydrated. It also soothes affected areas of the skin while giving it a cooling relief. While it can fight multiple skin problems, it also leaves the skin looking clear and fresh. So here are 3 simple ways you can use the miracle ingredient in your skincare routine:

1. Cucumber Facial Mist

After having a rough day at work or a tiring one full of travel, the skin can often feel tired and worked up. The heat and humidity can just add up more to the mix leaving the skin dull and tired. Now, you can make your own facial spray with cucumber to refresh your skin naturally. You can use it as a toner to nourish the skin naturally or as a facial mist to rejuvenate it. All you need to do is to peel a cucumber and chop it into small pieces. Now, add these pieces to a cup of water and boil it all together. Once done, strain the mixture in a spray bottle for your very own bottle of facial mist. This prepared toner can be used for up to 3 days.

2. Cucumber for puffy eyes

We all have days when we feel tired and it especially shows around the eyes. For years now, cucumber has been used as a remedy for puffy eyes. As an addition to puffy eyes, it can also be used as a great remedy to treat dark circles. All you need to do is to take a few slices of cucumber and pop it in the freezer for a few minutes. Take them out and directly place over the eyes for a cooling and soothing effect. The cooling effect of the cucumber helps in reducing puffiness while the cucumber extracts seep in the skin to visibly reduce dark circles.

3. Cucumber face pack

If you have an important meeting or your friend’s sangeet and your face is not glowing as it usually is, this face pack is just for you. All you need to do is grate one cucumber in a bowl and add aloe vera gel to the mixture. Now mix it all into a paste and leave it on your face for about 15-20 minutes. Rinse it all off for the enhanced glow and visibly reduced skin pigmentation.
