For years together, our grandmoms have sworn by their home remedies. These tricks have been passed on from one generation to another, but with luxurious, expensive and fancy looking beauty products raiding the market, we totally forgot about them. While it is kind of impossible to totally get rid of our beauty products, these home remedies can actually make a difference and you should totally give it a try!

Tried and tested! Here are some easy ways to get spot-free glowing skin.

As weird as it sounds, turmeric works in the best way for your skin. It has strong anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps you get rid of the harmful radicals on your skin. The easiest way to use it is to mix it with coconut oil. Create a paste and gently massage on your face and neck. This will make your skin soft and supple and give you a stunning glow.

Coconut oil

With or without turmeric, coconut oil does wonders for the skin. Applying coconut oil is the best way to hydrate your skin and give it a natural glow. Coconut oil locks the moisture in the skin and also nourishes it with essential fatty acids. Try using it instead of shaving cream. It is gentle and creamy and leaves your legs feeling silky soft and hydrated. Coconut oil with a pinch of sugar also works as a great lip/body scrub.

Take 2 teaspoons of fresh lemon juice and mix it with 2 teaspoons of sugar. Slowly scrub it on tanned skin. Lemon works the best to easily get rid of the dead cells. Lemon cleanses, bleaches and also removes tan. It is one of the best natural ingredients to remove tan and brighten up the skin.

Rose water

This home remedy is by far our favourite as it works well for all skin types. A few spritzes on your skin can clearly make a difference if used regularly. Rose water helps maintain the skin's pH balance, and also controls excess oil. It also helps to reduce the redness of the irritated skin, get rid of the acne. Swapping your toner for rose water will do wonders for your skin. Because of its anti-bacterial properties, it will soothe irritated, acne-prone skin and help hydrate dry skin. Due to the astringent-like properties it possesses, it helps clean the pores and in turn tones the skin which helps in reducing dark spots. Rose water can also be sprayed over make-up to work as a setting product, the mist will leave your face radiant making your base look dry and flawless.

Olive oil

Yes! This is what you use while making delicious pasta, but it also has some surprising beauty benefits. Gently massage a few drops of olive oil on your face, dip a towel in the warm water, remove the excess water, and place this on the face for 30 to 40 seconds. Gently wipe away the oil off your skin for a naturally moisturized glow. We recommend you to follow these simple steps before going to bed each night. Olive oil protects the skin from free radicals and prevents damage leaving it healthy and glowing.

Just like our grandmoms, we swear by these home remedies and would definitely recommend them for healthy and glowing skin.
