Rihanna to Cardi B: The Best and Worst Dressed celebrities at the BET Awards

The BET Awards always deliver some spectacular style and fashionable looks at the red carpet and the event. Actress Regina Hall hosted the show this year at the event which honours Black celebrities for their excellence in the entertainment and pop culture industry. The attendees  picked out bold patterns and daring silhouettes for the red carpet and awards show and didn't shy away from making a statement. Everybody from Rihanna to Cardi B and even Mary J Blige were present at the awards show. Here are the best and worst dressed of them all.

Rihanna didn't make a red carpet appearance but she stepped on stage to honour Mary J Blige for the Lifetime Achievement Award. She came in a head-to-toe black leather pants and a wrap blazer with puffy sleeves and a belt that cinched her waist. The singer turned designer accessorised her look with a statement silver neckpiece and stilettos that were sewn into her pants! Her burgundy hair was half up and she opted for smokey eyes and a nude lip for the event. We absolutely love her unconventional outfit!

Cardi B

The Black singer gave us three different yet bold looks at the show. She also performed at the awards ceremony and changed two outfits. Her first was a one piece sparkly purple cut out bodysuit which featured a plunging neckline, that accentuated her curves. She paired this with matching gloves.

Her next look was a glittery green crop top with a plunging neckline that she paired with a cut-out corset that was attached to emerald green pants and a full-sleeved top. She looked fierce in this outfit.

Her last look, was a striking neon green shade. It featured exaggerated sleeves with a bodysuit that had a plunging neckline and opened up at her thighs. We didn't think this outfit was as catchy and daring as the other two. The pattern was too vague and there was just too much happening in the outfit.

Mary J Blige

The actress received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Rihanna and looked like she was dressed for it! She sparkled in a classy white gown which featured a plunging neckline and loads of sequince work. She accessorised her outfit with gold earrings and a cuff. Her curly locks were set loose and she looked bold and beautiful at the event.

Regina Hall

The host of the show switched many outfits for the event, but at the red carpet she donned a classy LBD with poufy sleeves and a plunging neckline. She looked simple and elegant and paired this outfit with strappy black stilettos. Her hair was pulled back and a deep red lip completed this glamorous look.

The American singer redefined boldness at the event in a stunning orange wrap dress with large shoulder pads and an exaggerated knots. Matching orange strappy heels completed her look ensuring she looked no less than a diva.

Blac Chyna

The model showed off a bold hairdo in a bold dress. Chyna's entire look which included a sequinned red dress with a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit and her hair which was styled with a high pouf and bold bangs. Red roses that matched her dress was clipped on her hair and gave us old Hollywood vibes.

Ella Mai

Keeping up with trends, the singer picked a head-to-toe neon look for the event. A neon blazer paired with matching neon pants and a neon shirt beneath her outfit and a pair of neon rimmed sunnies, was her OOTD for the event. Large silver hoop earrings and a slinky neon choker that matched her strappy stilettos completed her look. Though we are loving the bright trend, we think some colourblocking would have looked better.

Yara Shahidi

The American actor and activist didn't miss an opportunity to make a mark. She kept her look simple with a sea blue bedazzled wrap skirt which featured an exaggerated knot that she paired under a crisp white full-sleeved chunky sweater that she tucked into her skirt. We love the minimalism and the way she styled it with cow print shoes and simple floral earrings. Her hair was parted in the centre and braided.

John Legend

The All Of Me singer looked dapper at the event in a grey suit and black leather shoes with a beige stripe, that made quite a statement!

DJ Khaled

The American DJ picked out an olive shirt with a splash of neon hues and graphic printed cartoons on it. He paired this with olive pants and black sneakers. While we appreciate his desire to be a part of the neon trend, we think the colours on the shirt were very outlandish and didn't suit him at all. He was by far the worst dressed among all the celebrities who attended the event.
