EXCLUSIVE : Fashion Flashback 2016 : 16 Best Red Carpet Looks of 2016

2016 has been one fashionable year and looking back at the year in retrospect has been much fun. So as part of our annual flashback, we decided to look back at the best of the best Red Carpet looks that our gorgeous Bollywood ladies donned during the year.
From desi red carpets to videshi, these actresses gave us a crash course in how to do glam flawlessly.
Here are our picks (in no particular order) for the Best Red Carpet Looks of the Year
Sonam Kapoor in Ralph and Russo Couture and Priyanka Chopra in Jason Wu
Sonam Kapoor is a bonafide Style Star and she proved it in this stunning custom made Ralph and Russo Couture gown that she wore to Cannes this year. The hand embroidered choker neck gown with a shoulder cut out and a floor sweeping train was both elegant and memorable. She is truly her own competition.
Actress Priyanka Chopra rubbed shoulders with Hollywood biggies in this custom made red gown by Jason Wu, that had yards and yards of a chiffon train. The impeccably fitted gown looked great on her and she made it to every 'Best Dressed at the Emmys' list.
Priyanka Chopra in Zuhair Murad Couture and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Elie Saab Couture
Attending the Oscars is every actor's dream and Priyanka Chopra got to live hers as she was invited to present an awards at the Academy Awards this year. There was a lot speculation about what the 'Quantico' actress would wear and she didn't disappoint. This gorgeous white Zuhair Murad sheer gown was a perfect fit for her.
Year after year Aishwarya Rai Bachchan flaunts her gorgeous self at the Cannes film festival. This year her winning look came via her dusty rose Elie Saab Couture gown. The maroon lip and the cascading waves helped finish out her look to perfection.
Katrina Kaif in Ziad Nakad and Deepika Padukone in Zuhair Murad Couture
While these actresses were slaying on International red carpets, closer home we had Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone own it. Katrina's major fashion moment was in her beaded green Ziad Nakad gown that was fit for a princess. In contrast to Katrina, we had Deepika who showed off her toned stems in this draped grey Ralph and Russo gown that she styled with sleek hair and a red pout.
Sonam Kapoor in Yanina Couture and Dice Kayek Couture and Vaani Kapoor in Alexis Mabille
When it comes to Sonam, it is really really tough to choose the best of her looks. After much deliberation, we went ahead and choose these two. Her Yanina Couture gown with the tulle ballerina sleeves and sheer dancing ladies embroidered yoke made every fashion lover weak in their knees. She futher proved that she can do a pant suit as good as a princess gown. Introducing us to designer Dice Kayek, her tuxedo look was truly one of the best of the year.
Vaani Kapoor had her big break this year and her best fashion moment was in this gorgeous Alexis Mabille gown. The blue gown which was an interpretation of a button down shirt was exquisite on her. The gown was a fitting choice for a movie trailer event in Paris.
Athiya Shetty in Bibhu Mohapatra and Neha Dhupia in H&M
Well this wasn't exactly a red carpet event, but Athiya Shetty looked phenomenal in this color block Bibhu Mohapatra gown. The off shoulder sweetheart neckline gown with a gold train was dramatic and gorgeous in equal measures.
Neha Dhupia sure knows a thing or two on how to ace the red carpet style. While everyone did elaborate gowns at IIFA, threw us a curveball by wearing H&M. Yes, you read it right. She wore a white button down and a maxi skirt from this high street brand. It might not be designer, but it definitely deserves a spot here.
Priyanka Chopra in Vera Wang, Freida Pinto in Reem Acra and Kalki Koechlin in Gucci
For me, Priyanka Chopra started the year on a high note when it came to fashion. This embellished Vera Wang dress was so much fun and she looked like a legit star.
Freida Pinto is one of the most consistent style stars that we have. Her lace-y and sequined two toned Reem Acra gown was perfect for the old Hollywood Glamour look that she was going for.
In this sea of gowns and floor sweeping trains, Kalki Koechlin made us sit up and take notice of her in this quirky Gucci dress. This work of art dress was styled with a pretty updo and edgy shoes.
Karisma Kapoor in Anamika Khanna Couture and Deepika Padukone in Sabyasachi Couture
Represting Indian designers on International red carpets were Karisma Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Ms. Kapoor looked fabulous in her Anamika Khanna, while Deepika Padukone was a total knock out winner in her custom made matador-inspired Sabyasachi Couture ensemble.
So there you have it. Our favorite red carpet looks of the year. Agree with our looks? Think we missed out on a deserving look? Let us know via the comments section below.
