Ariana Grande decided to skip the Grammy Awards and lounge at home. She announced that she wouldn't be performing or attending the ceremony despite winning the award for Best Pop Vocal Album. Ari skipped the show but didn't let her outfit go to a waste! It was whimsical and looked like it was taken right out of a fairytale.

Fashion designer Zac Posen designed the Thank U Next singer's gown for the award show. Since she wasn't attending the ceremony, Ariana did the most millennial thing and wore the dreamy ballroom gown at home, and shared pictures of the dress on her Instagram. She even recreated many of her album covers by posing in the sleeping way, in the same dress. She even posted a close up of her dazzling necklace that she was planning to accessorise with her dress.

The singer had to cancel her performance at the ceremony due to creative differences that arose between Ariana and the Grammy Award producers. In a series of Tweets, the singer mentioned that her creativity was being "stifled" as she was asked to put something together on a very short notice. She explained that she offered three songs to the producers and was keen on collaborating with the awards. "It's about feeling supported. It's about art and honesty. Not politics. Not doing favours or playing games. It's just a game ya..." she said and while adding that music wasn't all games to her. She ended by saying she was still grateful for being acknowledged by the award show this year.
