Chanel is that one fashion house that always surprises us with its unique runway shows. The fashion house for their Cruise 2019 show in Paris brought an ‘actual’ cruise ship on its runway. ‘La Pausa’, served as the a great backdrop for Chanel’s nautical inspired collection. The liner was named ‘La Pausa’ after Gabrielle Chanel’s summer house on the French Riviera.

The cruise served as a great backdrop and later when Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of Chanel and the models boarded the liner, it opened up to the guests making it an out-of-the-world photo opportunity.

The collection was nautical inspired with it having plenty of white and navy blue stripes. Straw hats and berets were also key elements of the collection. Chanel’s statement tweeds featured in the form of skirt suits and dresses. However, one key trend that was followed was that every model wore white tights before their outfits and we wonder why so, as this trend was quite passe.

The model list was also quite star studded. Stella Maxwell, Hadid sisters - Bella and Gigi walked the ramp for the iconic fashion house. Chanel’s muse, Kristen Stewart, also marked her presence at the fashion show wearing a black sparkling blazer dress. Lily Rose Depp was also seen seated in the front row.

Chanel in the past too has gone OTT with their fashion show sets. They’ve transformed their runways into a space station, airport, carousel, supermarket and more.
