With the fashion scene changing at a drop of a hat, there is one piece of garb which is timeless and peaks utmost elegance. It is an ensemble which has deep traditional roots and ages back to centuries. Saree, the 7 yards of beautiful fabric drape, is a quintessential part of every Indian woman’s wardrobe.

Undoubtedly, silk drapes remain a classic among the elaborate varieties of sarees. Evidence of silk production in India dates back to the Indus Valley civilisation and the authenticity of the various legends around its origin aside, the sheer luxuriousness of silk remains indisputable. Its richness and finesse has made silk an instant favourite for festive occasions and weddings. With the extravagant wedding season around the corner, take a cue from our celebrities who slayed it in this luxurious fabric.

Deepika Padukone

The ultimate queen of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone loves her classy and elegant silk sarees. The actress seems to keep it original with the silk drape and jewellery most of the time, uncomplying to the contemporary updates. During one of the appearances right after her nuptials, the leading lady donned a beautiful silk drape which left us star-eyed. The Padmaavat star looked stunning in a rani pink ’Sanuya’ Varanasi silk brocade sari from Raw Mango. Deepika accessorised her look with traditional jewellery and what stole the show was the chic mangalsutra and chooda. The actress rounded up her look with hair pulled back in a sleek bun with jasmine flowers and dark kohled eyes.

For one of the promotional looks, the Manikarnika star donned a beautiful blue handwoven Banarasi silk saree and lime green blouse by Swati and Sunaina label. The Queen actress put together her look with a pair of beautiful traditional jhumkas from Amrapali and juttis from Needle Lust. Kangana kept her make-up quite minimal, with nude lips and a black bindi. We totally approve this fresh and dashing look that Ms Ranaut sported.

Deepika s really awesome colour plus quality

These women didn't have to pull their hair into a tight bun. Lose messy bun, lose hair or lose braid will look good too
