Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, Blake Lively: The best and most iconic looks from the Cannes red carpet
The Cannes Film Festival 2019 is about to start in a few hours and we take a look back at the best and most iconic outfits at the red carpet
From the gorgeous and pregnant Blake Lively in princess gowns to Angelina Jolie in her signature thigh slit dresses, the Cannes red carpet has been the most glamorous event of the year. With elegant gowns and pretty hairdos, each celebrity is focused on putting their best foot forward in their ultra-glamorous avatars.
Since the Cannes Film Festival 2019 is about to kick start, we take a look back at some of the best ensembles from the iconic red carpet.
By far, Blake Lively has been the queen of slaying red carpet events. From surprising her fans with her baby bump to looking like a real-life princess, she has always managed to raise the bar high.
Blake managed to look THIS gorgeous while being pregnant. Back in 2016, she stole the red carpet in this stunning Atelier Versace gown.
The gold panels and sheer detailing showed enough of her skin while the gown was a perfect fit around her tiny baby bump. She styled her signature blonde locks in soft waves over her shoulder.
Coming back to her another red carpet appearance in 2016, Blake looked like a real-life princess in an icy blue ruffled creation by Vivienne Westwood. It looks like something that Blake stole from the princess’s closet. Doesn’t it give you major Cinderella feels?
During the Cannes 2017 red carpet, all eyes were on the world-renowned singer as she walked the red carpet wearing an off-white Dior Haute Couture gown. RiRi paired the strapless bustier dress with an extra-long, silk taffeta coat and a futuristic tiny pair of sunglasses. We loved how she added an element of her style with the tiny white glasses to the rather elegant gown.
The supermodel surely knows how to slay the red carpet with barely-there dresses. She looked like a vision in white that gave us major swan vibes. The super-sheer gown by Schiaparelli was accessorized with a matching belt, a diamond seahorse pin, and a pair of Chopard statement earrings.
This naked dress by Bella Hadid has been the most iconic looks from the Cannes red carpet. She nearly goes naked in this scandalous couture gown by Alexandre Vauthier. And just in case the dress wasn't enough to turn heads, she also added a pair of fresh new bangs to the look.
With her red-hot look making headlines, in 2018 Bella opted for a thigh-high slit again. The dress has its differences with a sweetheart neckline and a thigh-high split. The blush pink gown was accompanied by a flashy-looking sapphire necklace that completed the look making it one of the most stunning red-carpet looks.
While talking about thigh-high slits, we cannot forget the most iconic and glamorous actresses of all time - Angelina Jolie. She has to be the queen of rocking high slit gowns.
Angelina Jolie chose a classic strapless chocolate satin Atelier Versace gown - that revealed her now-iconic right leg -- at the 2011 Cannes. This was definitely the start of an era!
Accompanied by her then-boyfriend Brad Pitt, Angelina wowed the crowds wearing a sexy nude chiffon Atelier Versace gown. She made it a point to wear her signature red lips and thigh-high slit making it an iconic red carpet look.
A very pregnant Angelina Jolie walked the 2008 Cannes red carpet in glamorous comfort, thanks to Max Azria's olive green maternity gown.
We cannot talk about the couple without mentioning this iconic red carpet look. Jennifer Aniston dazzled in an embellished Atelier Versace gown halter dress when she accompanied then-husband Brad Pitt.
The human rights officer looks no less than a fashionista in her radiant Cannes Film Festival debut in 2016. She chose a light yellow silk chiffon Atelier Versace gown for the big day and it instantly made her best dressed at the event.
And surprise, there was a thigh-high slit!
These are a few of our favourite and most iconic red carpet appearances of all time. With Cannes film festival 2019 starting today, we cannot wait for the celebrities to add more iconic outfits to the list. Which of these iconic looks is your favourite? Let us know in the comments section below.
