Also known as Bandhej, Bandhani is a form of tie-dye textile which is made by plucking cloth into bindings which form a pretty and intricate design. Made mainly in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat it is essentially derived from the Sanskrit word Banda which means 'to die'. The most commonly used fabrics for this pattern include silk, cotton, cotton silk, chiffon, Georgette, etc. and include designs like squares, dots, rings, etc.

It has been gaining a lot of popularity in the recent times considering the number of B-town ladies sporting it for both formal as well as casual occasions. Everybody including the Begum of Bollywood, newbie Sara Ali Khan and diva Alia Bhatt are a huge fan of the print and sport it at every possible occasion. Check out all the ways you too can include it in your wardrobe.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

A huge believer in experimenting with styles and trends, the Begum of Bollywood made a style statement in a classic black and white monochrome asymmetrical dress. We love how she rocked the simple outfit and paired it with strappy stilettos.

Sara Ali Khan

A lover of the classic salwar set, it comes as no surprise that Sara rocked the bandini printed suit in sunshine yellow, giving us the perfect outfit for an off-duty look.

Alia Bhatt

Want to glam up this festive season? Take note from Alia Bhatt on how to rock a Bandhani printed off-shoulder jumpsuit with a thick border. To glam it up further, pick out statement earrings like she did and you are good to go!

Shilpa Shetty

Want to sport the ultra-traditional look? Look no further than Shilpa Shetty on how to wear a classic bandani printed saree with a concept blouse for a statement look.

Janhvi Kapoor

Fan of simplicity? Take note from Janhvi Kapoor on how to keep it ethnic but simple at the same time. Pick out a crisp white kurta set and pair it with a colourful bandhani printed dupatta.

Kiara Advani

Want to take things up a notch? Pick out a bandhani printed sharara set like Advani. For added oomph, sport a corset-like belt to flaunt your figure as well.

Tara Sutaria

For a more dressy look, take inspiration from Tara Sutaria. We love the bright and poppy shade of pink and the minimal white bandhani print on the drape of her sharara-crop top set.

Sonakshi Sinha

For a more contemporary feel, take inspiration from Sonakshi Sinha on how to wear palazzos and keep it casual but ethnic at the same time. Accessorise the look with oxidised silver jewellery for the most desi look.

Madhuri Dixit

Thinking of glamming up this festive season? Opt for a brightly coloured festive saree like Madhuri did with bandhani print and a thick border for a more glamorous and jazzy look.

Katrina Kaif

Not into the festive spirit at all but still love the print? Let Katrina Kaif be your inspiration! She kept it simple by donning a red top with yellow bandani prints on it and paired it with blue denims and white sneakers for a more casual look.
