Karl Lagerfeld's cat Choupette to be the world's richest cat as she could inherit a part of 150 million euros
Tuesday was a sad day for the world of fashion. Chanel's creative head Karl Lagerfeld passed away at the age of 85, in Paris. Known for taking the company forward after the lineage of Coco Chanel, the head honcho also created a brand with his own name. Known for his black power suit, black sunglasses and sleek back silver hair, one thing the fashion icon loved more than his art himself, was his cat - Choupette.
He even featured on the cover of the magazine Harpers Bazaar with his Persian feline and said that if it was legal, he would marry his cat! Which is why it comes as no surprise that Choupette could also be in line to inherit some of Karl's 150 million euros. As a matter of fact, just last year, the designer had mentioned that his pet would receive a share of his fortune "among other things".
At the moment, the cat even has its own Instagram handle with around 200 thousand followers. On her page, she posts pictures of her jet-set life alongside Karl. Apparently, the cat even has her own bodyguard, two maids and two personal chefs! Apart from his feline pet, Karl's made model muse Brad Kroenig and his son who is also Karl's godson, who has been part of many of Chanel's shows, could also get part of the iconic designer's inheritance.
According to a French newspaper, Choupette getting a part of Karl's inheritance i possible under the German law if the cat had been nominated as the 'heir' through a foundation or any association.
