Fashion Weeks are a place where fashion trends are made. From celebrities to influencers and designers, fashion weeks become one of the important events of the year. Yesterday proved to be no different as fashion took the centre stage at the on-going fashion week.

Day 3 kicked off with a stunning display of ancient Indian philosophy and history with a contemporary touch as Abhishek Sharma’s “ARUP” collection celebrated the union of male and female forms. Celebrating fashionable contrasts, jackets were elegantly tailored and topped with winter coats, while the floppy lapel jacket with a waistcoat and pants had a trendy vibe.

On the other hand, Kshitij Jalori brought forth sharp, clean silhouettes, which had the intricate architectural details of the Art Deco movement. His collection, “Moulin Rouge” had the glitz and glamour of the jazz age that will clearly add value to all the fashionista’s wardrobes.

Next up, Sunaina Khera’s collection, “Dear Mom” was an ode to the most precious and important lady in her life – her Mother. It had everything a woman would want, Indian motifs like florals and paisleys presented in an unusual avatar which was feminine, easy and timeless. Take a look!

Jayanti Reddy made sure that she dazzled the audience with her mesmerizing collection. Highlighting the essence of the glorious, yet the complex city of Benares, her collection was a feast to our eyes as fabrics like raw silks, Banarasi woven fabrics, were teamed with sheer organza and net, to add fluidity. The gorgeous, Pooja Hegde turned show stopper as she glided down the red carpet in a heavily embellished purple scalloped hem lehenga and dupatta.

Ridhi Mehra unwrapped her collection “An Ode To Heirlooms” with rich Kashmiri Pashmina shawls, rare Basra pearls, inherited vintage jewels, hand-woven silk saris and an exotic play of embellishments. The beautiful and captivating, Diana Penty stole the show in an intricately embroidered ivory sequined lehenga that made her look like a queen as she graced down the runway.

Moving forward, Label Ritu Kumar’s collection was a fresh new take on feminity and style. The very perky and peppy Tara Sutaria closed the show for Ritu Kumar as she strutted down the runway in a black, embroidered, halter, mini pinafore that she wore over a white shirt. She accessorised it with an exciting leather belt with floor touching long beaded strands.

Gaurang presented his “Peshwai” collection on the runway with fabrics known and dear to the Deccan Plateau. It was a perfect melange of royal elements making a strong fashion statement in the fabulous glittering textiles.

Next up, Nachiket Barve’s Passport Princess show conjured together different elements of beading and embroidery in the form of motifs that mimicked nature. Think birds and flowers on flowy silhouettes! Rakul Preet was no less a treat to our eyes as she walked down the runway in a glittering, black, jumpsuit under a long net robe with fringed long sleeves.

Kanika Goyal’s collection was everything a millennial would wear. Colour-blocked outfits, outfits with organza underlay embroidered and embellished pantsuits, Marcel coats with slit sleeves, off children bustiers, distressed dresses and we could go on! The icing on the cake - the dance party at the end of the show which stole the show.
