Fashion Weeks have now become a place where trends are created and there’s no denying that! Well, we all know that you cannot have a fashion event without our glamorous Bollywood divas making a show-stopping impact on it. Day 5 of the on-going fashion week was no less of a star-studded event as the designers put their best foot forward on the runway.

Day 5 kicked off with Diya Rajvvir with a sensational collection that had all the glitz and glamour with a strong emphasis on mauve and Marsala. The Indo-western silhouettes at times ventured out towards the western options, to enable the bride to select from a plethora of choices. Making the show-stopping entry was Malaika Arora who came gracing down the runway in a fitted choli with a plunging neckline and layered, fan sleeves with a slinky, rose, embroidered marsala, high-slit long skirt.

Disha Patil presented a variety of options for the lehengas, cholis and dupattas. Disha started with the traditional options with an asymmetric, long, choli and then ventured out to an off-shoulder top with pants and skirt. Disha brought the glamorous Kangana Ranaut on the catwalk in a powder blue lehenga dazzling with silver work and a stunning will- power choli with a one-sided, extended, shoulder drape.

Punit Balana took a fun twist to the very popular desi ensemble with block prints and poppy colours that can be perfect for a bride for all her pre-wedding festivities. To the foot-tapping beat of two drummers which was perfect for the wedding-themed show that he had, showstopper Shilpa Shetty made a rocking entrance as she swished down the ramp in a swirling, shimmering, lehenga and a dazzling mirror work halter choli, accessorised with giant latkans and a potli bag.

Next up, Hamley’s ramp camp was a sight on its own. With kids walking the runway carrying bicycles and jumping into ball pits, it was the cutest show to witness. Esha Deol and her adorable daughter turned showstopper as they had their ‘Awww-worthy’ mother-daughter moment on the runway.

Bringing the beauty of the past on the ramp, Rajdeep had the Bandhani of Rajasthan and the gorgeous weaves of Baluchistan that infused his collection to life on the runway. The collection was aimed at men and women who are urban nomads but at the same time revel in the beauty of luxury.

The SVA look brought modern royalty to the wardrobes of the 21st century ‘Maharanis’. With the colour palette of black, grey, gold and silver setting the tone right for winters. The glamourous, Diva Dhawan turned show-stopper as she graced down the runway in a tiny little black choli paired with a lehenga with a corset style, checked belt.

Next up was Pink Peacock Couture by Masumi Mewawalla who’s collection was a glamorous take on the traditional ethnic wear with muted tones and heavily embroidered ensembles gliding down the runway. Urvashi Rautela turned show-stopper as she took our breaths away in a princess-like silver cape gown.

Saroj Jalan’s collection stole the show as she managed to create an eye-pleasing melange of ethnic Indian wear with modern elements and large lapels. After years of being MIA, Genelia Deshmukh came out of her shell and turned showstopper for Saroj Jalan.

Kavita Agarawal’s collection, ‘A Queen’s Closet’ was a memoir of royalty, beauty and grace and who better to turn show-stopper than royalty herself? Soha Ali Khan made sure to turn a lot of heads as she stole the show in a stunning pistachio green lehenga.

The next show was no less than a treat for our eyes as ALL and Rina Dhaka served a stunning display of plus-size clothing with one of the most confident men and women walking the ramp. Vahbiz Dorabjee opened the show in a white gown while Delnaz Irani turned show stopper for the same.

Coming to the end,  the Grand Finale by Gauri & Nainika was no less than a treat to our eyes. Their collection reflected the power dressing of the 80s to the golden era with styles that are fun, free and light. Sharp detailing, dramatic yet fluid silhouettes, vintage botanical illustrations and intricate hand embroideries in strikingly bold colours defined Gauri and Nainika’s show-stopping Finale collection. To make it all more memorable, Kareena Kapoor Khan game gliding down the giant runway in a stunning black strapless gown with multiple light layers with a small train brushing the runway. She flaunted an attention-grabbing bold berry lip while keeping her hair pulled at the back.
