Summer is long gone and we are officially into the season of comfy blankets, hot chocolates, bells jingling and new beginnings. While we are looking forward to a new season we are also entering an all-new fashion season.

While items like knee-high boots from last winter and big hops from this summer are still going and will certainly transition to fall-winter 2017. Here is a look at some new trends you should invest in to look your fashionable best this winter!

1. Botanical gardens

Indian flower, oriental florals, big flowers and small flowers, all kinds of floral trends are trending this season. The colourful floral trend is ruling this season, and while flowers might not be blooming in the cold weather, your outfit can go full bloom.

2. Longline blazers

Structured and well-fitted blazers were known to be a closet staple for the longest time, but things are a bit different in 2017, long line blazers that hit a few inches above your the knee are the order of the season.

3. Velvet slip dresses and mini wrap dresses

Velvet slip dresses and mini wrap dresses, that can be styled in many ways are a good pick or the fall season. A wrap dress can be left loose with an outfit or worn with tights, leggings, knee-high boots and my personal favourite way- to wear it over a turtleneck.

4. Sneakers

Backless kicks had their moment last fall, but now that the temps are dropping and we are back with the classic sneakers

5. Turtleneck

The old-school turtlenecks are now back in fashion. Turtleneck is probably my favourite trends from fall winter as it makes for quite the fashionable layer while keeping you warm and cosy.

6. Velvet bottoms

Everyone knows that velvet is a huge trend this season, but the fashion-forward way to wear it is to wear them in your bottoms. Velvet palazzo pants, wide legged pants and more are a comfy-chic trend you must invest in.

7. Modern berets

If you have always loved that minimalistic yet stylish Parisian-chic look then beret hats are for you.  Plus, they're totally having a moment this fall-winter.

8. Monochromatic suits

All-red outfits are omnipresent, try monochromatic suits this season. These are a sophisticated and seasonally appropriate suit, that can be dressed down with sneakers or dressed up with earrings and platforms.
