The Royal Wedding is finally over, giving birth to a new beginning for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Meghan looked nothing short of a fairytale princess wearing a gown by Clare Waight Keller from the house of Givenchy couture. Her wedding dress was a simple boat neck fit and flare gown which she styled with a long train with intricate embroidery on the border. She accentuated her look donning a tiara which is an heirloom piece from the Royal treasure. While the new Princess looked absolutely stunning, her hairstylist spilled details about the royal wedding and everything that went behind it.

Serge Normant, celebrity hairstylist was the lucky one who styled Meghan’s hair. Normant who often works with Julia Roberts and Sarah Jessica Parker, told the reporters present at Kensington Palace, he said, “I am still pinching myself this morning. It's just one of those moments you dream of." Normant revealed how much time it took to finish the whole process and what went behind it, “We had to blow dry [her hair] from wet, I would say 45 minutes to an hour. Then they did the make-up and then you fiddle around with it a little bit. But it's not that long. I always tend to try and go as fast as I can at these events. Nobody wants to sit around."

The Duchess of Sussex’s hairstyle garnered a lot of mixed reviews. However, Normant embraced the look and said, “It's a messy bun, we call it. Messy in a controlled way. I don't overload the hair with products in general and certainly not on this day," Serge wanted it to look real and not be all over the place after a few hours. The celebrity hairstyle also revealed that he and the former Suits star did have a few conversations about the hairstyles but they wanted to go for the ‘easiest’ one for the big day. “I think it was a variety of things, as long as it didn't look contrived," Serge said. He also added that he drew inspiration from Audrey Hepburn who is one of his icons. "For me, I always think of icons I love, like Audrey Hepburn, all those styles that I still look at a picture of today and still love. I always have little '60s inspirations in my head but I didn't want to do anything set in a time frame. I didn't want too much volume. I wanted something very loose and easy which is why we chose a very loose bun." He added: "It wasn't about reinvention."

The hairstyle was levelled up after Meghan wore Queen Mary’s Filigree tiara. Normant focused that both the veil and tiara do not move around too much and stays put throughout the event. "The thing is working with Meghan, she makes everything so light and easy that you don't think about these things in that dramatic way," he says. "It was an amazing day, something that will last a lifetime."
