At just the age of 5, Prince George has managed to steal millions of hearts. With him waving at the audience to his cute smile, he has surely become an internet sensation in numbered years. The Prince of Cambridge is third in line for the throne and clearly one of the most adorable kids of the royal family.

With Royal visits and public events, Prince George has clearly become the eye-candy of people around the world. While everyone keeps focusing on his adorable gestures, we cannot stress enough on his amazing fashion sense.

True British in its sense, Prince George is always seen in his signature shorts paired with a shirt and pair of long socks and shoes. So much so, that he has even worn the ensemble to his younger sister and brother’s christening ceremonies.

While this was a matter of our research, we now know why he always wears shorts.

According to the UK's leading etiquette consultant William Hanson, there's a very interesting reason for this fashion choice -  It's a sign of aristocracy. Now, who would’ve guessed that?

According to him, “Trousers are for older boys and men, whereas shorts on young boys is one of those silent class markers that we have in England. Although times are (slowly) changing, a pair of trousers on a young boy is considered quite middle class – quite suburban.”

Apparently, this tradition goes long back with Prince William and Prince Harry wearing them.

He also added, “The usual custom is that a boy graduates to trousers around eight years old."

Well, now that we know that Prince George will wear trousers when he’s Eight, we cannot wait to see his new style. Don’t you think that he’ll be a future fashion icon? Let us know in the comments section below.

While this is how William and Harry were dressed when they were little, that was 30+ years ago. Now with Royal millennials I think it’s time to update their children’s wardrobe to reflect them keeping up with the times. There are many qualified designers who can keep up with the Royal standard and expectations.
