Whether you like it or not, come Republic Day, patriotism kicks into every Indian. Plastic flags and pins with the tricolour on it are sold by street vendors, the National Anthem is heard more often and all those ethnic clothes are brought out from the depths of the cupboard. On the day of the event, there are alarms kept to wake people up especially for the flag hoisting, post which everybody binges on tricolour themed food while watching the parade.

This year, take it a notch higher and dress for the occasion. Incorporate the tricolour in your outfits leading up to the day by going all out with wearing all the colours - saffron, green and white, or go subtle and sport one or two colours simultaneously. Whatever you choose, if you are in need of some inspiration on how to style your outfits, our B-town celebrities have your back!
Mix it up
It is obviously not easy to incorporate all the colours of the tricolour into a single outfit but there's no harm in trying to fit in as many as you can!
Shraddha Kapoor pairs a pastel green and white striped palazzo pants with a crop top and matching shrug. A look you can take inspiration from for a Republic Day brunch.
For a more ethnic look, take inspiration from Parineeti's caped lehenga look. The mix of peacock blue and green is just perfect for the occasion.
Sara Ali Khan's lime green sharara set with a pop of orange, red and blue is the perfect look for this occasion and can be carried off with total ease.
For a cool and casual look, incorporate similar themes like Diana Penty who managed to sport orange, blue and white in one outfit!
Go Green
Green is one of the easiest colours, to wear since it is available in different shades from emerald lime green, that suit almost every skin tone.
Kareena Kapoor Khan gives us lessons on how to look smoking while looking classy the same time. She paired her emerald green saree with actual emeralds and looked regal. She also sported a lighter shade of the colour in a simple churidar, giving us two great options for the day.
Kriti Sanon followed cue and sported an emerald green sequined lehenga and looked like a million bucks.
If just green is too much to carry off, incorporate some more subtle muted tones like white or gold, to give the outfit a more subtle flair. Take cue from Kangana Ranaut, Huma Qureshi, Shilpa Shetty, Janhvi Kapoor and Kriti Sanon on how to ace the look.
Orange Blaze
This bright colour is not as easy to carry off but if it is the right tone, a full head-to-toe orange outfit will set the place ablaze!
Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and Neha Dhupia have set all kinds of goals by sporting this colour.
If the colour is just too bright for you, add a little bit of white to give the outfit some subtlety like Kangana Ranaut. Tone it down further by adding a lighter colour of the same shade, like yellow, to the outfit and look as graceful as ever!
Cool Blue
Another easy colour this can be sported from head to two for a breezy and cool look.
Add hints of white or orange, like Anushka Sharma or Sonam Kapoor to look chic.
For a cooler and casual look, there is nothing like blue jeans and a casual white tee. Take inspiration from Sonakshi Sinha and Yami Gautam on how to style the look.
