Some of the biggest stars of Broadway walked the Tony Awards red carpet amidst all the glam, glitz and glory. But, what stole the show was the display of inclusivity and celebration of pride on the red carpet.

The 73rd annual Tony Awards that took place on Sunday night saw a larger than life statement by subtly extending their support to the LGBTQ community.

The red carpet outside this year's Tony Awards may be a bit more colourful than usual. Since Vogue's Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour, joined the Tony Awards team a few years back to help make the festivities more exciting and attractive, there have been plenty of rich tones and floral prints.

Anna Wintour who enlisted event designer Raul Avila for decorating the red carpet this year transformed the carpet to a tribute to the pride month. With a beautiful rainbow floral wall that lined the carpet outside Radio City Music Hall in New York City, it served as a perfect backdrop for celebrities to pose in front of.

Avila also took to Instagram to share a close-up snapshot of the incredible display, writing, "The 2019 Tony Awards have begun and we are so Proud! This rainbow-hued red Capet is in honour of World Pride, hosted this year by New York City in conjunction with NYC Pride."

Designed with almost 22,000 hand spray-painted roses, just the addition of the flag in the backdrop served as a major historic moment for the LGBTQ community.

With Anna Wintour directing the decor, we bet it will get better with each following year! What are your thoughts about it? Let us know in the comments section below.
