Back in the day, animal skins like tiger and leopard skin was extensively used in the field as fashion and paraded around as exotic and fashionable outfits. Animal skins were not the only one - fur coats from polar bears, lions, etc. were poached for in the name of fashion. Since then, a lot has changed. Now, fashion brands have begun to ban the use of animal skins and fur in their products, since a lot of awareness has been brought to the matter. Chanel and Vivienne Westwood were the more recent two designer luxury labels who banned the use of fur and exotic animal skins from their product. Following the cue, celebrated designer Victoria Beckham has also joined the bandwagon.

Though her line never used fur, they did make accessories out of animal skin like alligators, snake, lizard, etc. will be discontinued starting this year. In a statement, a representative for the brand said, "Victoria Beckham will cease the use of exotic skins in all collections as of AW19. The Victoria Beckham brand has never used fur in its clothing or accessories collections and confirmed last year that the brand will remain fur free."

With the news of this spreading, PETA the Animal Rights Organisation are hugely excited about it. "Victoria Beckham's decision to ban exotic skins will spare countless remarkable animals immense suffering, and PETA calls on other luxury brands to follow her kind of example," Elisa Allen the director of the organisation said.
