Yearender: Breakthrough men's fashion trends of 2018

Every year, we see new trends pop up in both men's and women's fashion. This year, there were some trends we loved and hated. Eye-openers that ideas we would want to see incorporated on the streets and on the runway. Think western style, sharp tailoring, heights of luxury and more. So, if you're in need of some inspiration for the next year, look no further!

Fire department jacket

This can be seen with reflective stripes and without. And it looks HOT. This is one trend that is in Vogue even in women's fashion and we know why!

Checks and stripes

It is a big yes for this trend and we can't wait to see more of this. Various forms of checks from the Scottish kind to preppy accents and even vintage checks are quite a big hit in Bollywood. We absolutely love them!

Stripes were always in, but this time, give those pinstripes a break, and go bold! Pick out a shirt with thick stripes, to make a fashion statement like Rajkummar Rao does.

Caps and Hats

Give those beanies a break and pick out those straw hats. They go well with formal and casual clothes and add a new level of class to the entire outfit. Take it a notch further and pick out a baseball cap for a more casual and sporty look, if you aren't comfortable with a hat!

Statement pants

At a time when atheisure is king, formals have taken a setback. But formal pants are making a comeback and how! Striking statement pants with pinstripes, checks and more were a favourite among the most fashionable male celebrities this year.

Athletic accents

Athleisure has been trending for a while now and we don't see it going anywhere, anytime soon. It has taken a new twist this year with fresh accents that are being imbibed into smarter pieces but giving them a more sophisticated look.

Pastel love

Taking cue from the 70s, lighter more muted colour suits are coming to the forefront. While in reality, it may not seem advisable, it looks incredibly dapper and on trend.

Ugly sneaker

It might have been started by Gigi and Kendall, but famous fashion moguls in Bollywood love it as much. Wear it to the grocery store to pick up milk or for a red carpet event, and look right on trend.

Printed shirt over solid tee

This too, is back from the 90's, but with a bang! The printed shirt that Charlie from "Two and a Half Men" and Chandler from "Friends" has made its way back. Style it by picking your choice of prints - floral, abstract, stripes or anything else, and wearing this shirt over a plain tee.

Metallic shoes

Clearly, fashion repeats itself as bold is no more old. Add a flair of drama to your otherwise basic outfit for a sexy, sauve, old-school look. Take cue from none other than Karan Johar while doing so!

Ultra-slim glasses

Another trend that may have started with the ladies, these sleek and sharp sunglasses are more about making a style statement than actually protecting your eyes and doing their job! An excellent option for those who want to shape their faces, or make a statement.

Clearly, fashion has reached new heights this year and we can't wait to see different ways in which these trends are styled, as well as the new trends that come with the year!
